    • Time Lapse

In a sleepy apartment complex, three 20-something roommates discover their scientist neighbour dead. Within his apartment they find a giant experimental machine that takes pictures 24 hours into the future.

One wall of the apartment is covered with pictures of their exploits as the camera is aimed into the trio's apartment, continuing to run and showing glimpses of their life a day in advance.

Not sure what to make of this, but armed with this revelation, the three conspire to exploit the machine's abilities.

After enjoying the power of being one step ahead in life, and benefitting from this foresight by gambling, disturbing images begin to arrive.

A tense love-triangle emerges, and their sinister bookie begins sniffing around – this lucky streak just doesn't feel right. Relationships unravel and the trio descends into a dark future they no longer have control of as the repercussions of their time tinkering start to have serious effects.

This film could be described as a melding of Shane Carruth’s mind-boggling PRIMER(SFL4), spiced up with a dash of Roger Avary’s RULES OF ATTRACTION, which should be recommendation enough.

A great cast give sharp performances in the toughest sub-genre to get right.

    • SOL

If you buy this film you get some nice goodies in the bundle. Behind the scenes blogs, the soundtrack and some exclusive stills.

Every year, teams of young men are sent from the Earth’s finest academies to compete in the Sol Invictus competition.

The teams are teleported to a remote planet and the winners are the first team to pinpoint the position of our Sun, except this time something goes wrong with the portal and only a handful of members from each team make it through, ending up on a hostile planet without most of their equipment.

Think of it as an intergalactic Lord of the Flies, with astronomy.

This is fantastic example of indie sci-fi and what can be done with a great idea, the right locations and a limited number of props and special effects, and is particularly recommended for anyone wanting to make a low-budget feature.

    • The Truth Is Out There

The JFK assassination... UFOs... The existence of extraterrestrials... The truth behind 9/11... Water privatisation... Population control... The New World Order... The end of the Mayan Calendar… The suppression of quantum consciousness...

For the past fifty years, conspiracy theories have become an ever-more prevalent topic of discussion and cause for alarm, growing into a truly global phenomenon.

Actor-comic-writer-producer-painter-inventor, Dean Haglund is best known for playing one of the Lone Gunmen on THE X-FILES, and has become closely identified with the realm of the paranormal and the world of conspiracy.

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE follows Dean as he travels the globe hoping to discover just what it means to search for the truth in a world where conspiracies, or conspiracy theories, are everywhere. The film is equal parts comedy, consciousness and conspiracy.

    • The Immortal Augustus Gladstone

We are used to seeing fictional films “based on a true story”, but this is a fictional story made in a documentary format about an eccentric man, squatting in an abandoned hotel, who claims to be 150 years old.

After the titular Augustus posts several videos on YouTube, a documentary film crew track him down him and record interviews about his life and supposed immorality.

Augustus openly shares his tales of travelling across America during the depression, befriending Andy Warhol, and living in Paris during the 1900 Expo.

Augustus has a peculiar and sketchy roommate called Tommy who, during filming, object’s to the presence of the crew and walks out, leaving Augustus depressed.

In the wake of Tommy’s departure, Augustus makes an unexpected admission to the crew that he’s actually a vampire. But what are they to really believe in his tales?

As with Jim Jarmusch’s recent Only Lovers Left Alive, this is another look at vampires that avoids the traditional horror view and treats them as people living their extended lives in an anonymous and rather mundane way.

The film perfectly replicates the documentary format, giving it verisimilitude, and making it a totally engaging and fresh take on the vampire genre.

This is the debut feature from Robyn Miller, the creator of the MYST and RIVEN computer games, and he brings much of those games’ rich and considered pacing to the film.

      Thanks.
